As User Experience lead for Mercatus I was involved in a large number of projects supporting retail grocers. Projects were primarily divided between consumer facing (web, iPhone and Android apps) and client facing (console components).
My role was very hands-on, from initial design concepts thru user testing, visual design and development. Working with various teams concurrently on numerous interrelated projects.
Online Ordering and Personal Shopper App
Project Description: Currently in development. Design an online ordering system that enables shoppers to browse and buy groceries online (web and mobile) for pick up or delivery at their local store, or a store of their choosing. Also design the corresponding personal shopper apps, which guides store employees through the process of efficiently fulfilling the order for the customers.
Since this project hasn’t launched yet, I won’t post any screens or wireframes here.
iPhone and Android Apps
Project Description: Initially designed iPhone and Android native apps to enable shoppers to browse flyers for their preferred store location, save flyer items to a shopping list, manage and create multiple shopping list, browse and save recipes, add recipe ingredient to shopping lists.
Apps integrated new functionality as it became available – including online ordering and Zavers coupons.
Zavers Coupon Integration
An integration of Google’s Zavers coupons platform and Mercatus’ API. Implemented for web and mobile. Part of the challenge was simplifying the authentication process so that users weren’t required to sign up and sign in on three separate systems.
iPad App with Meal Planner
Project Description: Based on the functionality of iPhone app, this iPad changes the interaction model for browsing products, coupons and recipes.
Console – Order Manager, Recipe Manager, Flyer Manager
Project Description: Client facing portal with extensive role-based access and views. Single point of access for store and call center employees, store managers, content managers and head office. Includes components for the management of ecommerce, products, stores, employees, shoppers and more.
