- As Senior Interface Specialist for an education solutions provider I participated in the development of a large number for projects, a few of which I highlight below. All projects were developed in a UNIX environment, by small teams (myself and one or two developers) within fairly aggressive time lines.
- Because CE’s primary means of delivery is through partnerships or sales to third parties, a comprehensive site wrapper technology was developed so each of the tools that were developed could be seamlessly integrated into external sites.
MyCareer
Part of a Skill Assessments platform, MyCareer is a flexible web-based application developed to enable individuals to purchase and complete a series of skill certification tests toward the achievement of a specific Job Role Certification.
Skill Management Environment
Part of a Skill Assessments platform, the Skill Management Environment is a web-based application developed to enable organizations to assess employee skill strengths and weaknesses, and manage related recommended training.
Learning Management Environment
The Learning Management Environment is a desktop application developed for use by university registrars, which manages course offerings, student registration and billing and accounting processes.
SiteBuilder
SiteBuilder is small content management application was that developed so that educators could create and maintain a web presence which integrated the different CE education-related tools, including course search, online registration, course alerts, and custom data input forms. It was designed so that once configured, content could be maintained by an individual with no previous web-content creation experience.
Course Marketing Technologies
Course Marketing Technologies encompasses a large number of education-related tools – course search, course alerts, job title match and career progression recommendations – which could be packaged together in a different combinations to suit partner or educator needs. I was involved in the development and customization of these tools to suit specific implementations.
